William H. Hannon Foundation Provides Grants to Support Education Throughout Los Angeles

Santa Monica, CA (February, 2021): The William H. Hannon Foundation has announced a set of grants to three Catholic schools in Southern California.

The grants have been awarded to the following schools:

Mary Star of the Sea High School in San Pedro

Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles

Xavier College Prep in Palm Desert

The William H. Hannon Foundation has consistently provided grants to many educational institutions throughout Los Angeles as well as Southern California, giving tens of millions of dollars to various organizations in the last 38 years.

The COVID-19 pandemic heavily impacted many schools, and these grants will help alleviate some of the pressures the institutions are facing during this time. The grants will help provide scholarships and tuition relief for students in need, mitigate some of the financial impacts of the pandemic, and help schools lower the costs of retreats for their students.

“Supporting Catholic education has been a pillar of our Foundation since its founding in 1983 by my late uncle, William Hannon,” said Kathleen Hannon Aikenhead, President of the Foundation and an original member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Catholic education is a blessing to the community at every level, which makes it an easy decision to support these institutions.”
